Lance Corporal Jon Le Galloudec takes on Nepal’s Himalayas, with his father Steve, on 4th November 2011. Sponsored by Energizer, his trek will raise valuable funds for Help for Heroes – a charity that provides vital support to wounded British servicemen.

And his epic challenge attains new heights because four years ago Jon was told he’d never walk again – when a gunshot wound inflicted in Iraq left him paralysed.

Jon says of his deeply personal mission to reach Everest Base Camp

“I just want to raise awareness of the need for continued support for our country’s wounded soldiers. And if I can inspire just one wounded soldier to realise that being injured doesn’t mean an awful life, then I’ve done my job”
